Kenora Attractions …. Where Nature, Art, and Adventure Meet

Let me introduce you to my hometown... where I live, work and play...

Welcome to Kenora, located on Treaty 3 Territory. This vibrant community is the northern gateway to beautiful Lake of the Woods, which has over 14,000 islands and an endless expanse of pristine shoreline—a place that offers something for everyone, whether you’re here for adventure, art, fishing, or simply to bask in the stunning natural beauty.

Lake of the Woods: A Living Canvas

For those who call Kenora home, Lake of the Woods isn’t just a body of water; it’s a way of life. This massive lake is a paradise for boaters, anglers, and paddlers, with miles of untouched wilderness and hidden beaches to explore. The rugged Canadian Shield meets the water in a way that feels almost magical, creating vistas that are both calming and inspiring. It’s no wonder this lake serves as a constant muse for my artwork—it’s truly a masterpiece of nature.

Adventure in Every Season

Kenora is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts all year long. Trails like Tunnel Island and Vernon Nature Trails provide endless opportunities to hike, connect with nature, and enjoy panoramic views of the lake and forest. Campgrounds like Anicinabe and Rushing River Provincial Park are perfect for a family picnic or a refreshing swim.

Winter transforms Kenora into a snowy wonderland. Ice fishing huts dot the frozen river right in front of my property, while snowmobilers and cross-country skiers explore vast, powdery trails all around the area. For downhill thrills, Mt. Evergreen offers skiing and snowboarding for all skill levels.

A Hub of Creativity and Culture

Kenora has long been a place where art thrives, and I’m so grateful to be part of this rich creative tradition. My studio, nestled on the Winnipeg River just a stone’s throw from Lake of the Woods, is a reflection of this region’s rugged beauty. Each day, I watch the light dance across the water and the Boreal Forest shift with the seasons, and these moments find their way into my paintings. If you’re in the area, I’d love for you to stop by and see how this breathtaking landscape inspires my work—it’s always evolving.

Local Charm and Iconic Landmarks

No visit to Kenora is complete without a photo alongside Huskie the Muskie or a stroll through the charming downtown. Consider adding a trip to my studio while visiting Kenora, to pick up one of a kind artwork, whether original or prints, or art cards inspired by this area to take home with you. Our shops and restaurants are filled with local flavor, from craft beer brewed right here in town to fresh, lake-to-table dishes that highlight the region’s bounty.

Unplug and Reconnect

Just beyond Kenora’s lively streets lies a wilderness that feels untouched by time. Paddle along quiet waterways, hike into the depths of the Boreal Forest, or simply sit beneath a canopy of stars. Here, it’s easy to unplug from the hustle and reconnect with the natural world—and yourself.

For me, Kenora isn’t just a place to live and work; it’s a never-ending source of inspiration and a community that feels like family. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway or a longer retreat, this community and its surroundings have a way of leaving a mark on your heart. Come explore, create, and be inspired—you won’t regret it.
